What do SEER2 and AFUE ratings mean?SEER2 measures cooling efficiency for air conditioners and heat pumps. The higher the number, the less electricity used. AFUE gauges furnace efficiency — the percentage of fuel that turns into usable heat. Higher ratings translate to lower utility costs.
